Frateuria Aurantia

Potassium is one of the essential macronutrient and the most abundantly absorbed cation in plants. Potassium plays an important role in the growth and development of plants. It activates enzymes, maintains cell turgor, enhances photosynthesis, reduces respiration, helps in transport of sugars and starches, helps in nitrogen uptake and is essential for protein synthesis. In addition to plant metabolism, potassium improves crop quality because it helps in grain filling and kernel weight, strengthens straw, increases disease resistance and helps the plant better to withstand stress.

Frateuria aurantia is a Gram negative, Potassium solubilizing bacteria. The cells after reaching the soil get activated and grow and multiply by utilizing carbon source in the soil or from root exudates. During their growth, they solubilize the fixed Potash in the soil by the production of organic acids and make it available to the plant in an easily usable form. It helps to save up to 30 % of normal potash fertilizer cost.

KSB could be applied individually however it is recommended along with nitrogen fixing bacteria and with Psolubilizers for better results.
