Description
Mode of Action
Mancozeb is a fungicide that acts through a multi-site mode of action. It works by inhibiting multiple enzymatic reactions within fungal cells, disrupting various metabolic processes vital for fungal growth and reproduction. Mancozeb acts on the fungal cells’ mitochondria and interferes with their respiration process. It disrupts the electron transport chain and inhibits the production of adenosine triphosphate (ATP), which is essential for cellular energy. This disruption impairs the fungal cells’ ability to generate energy, leading to their inability to grow, reproduce, and cause disease.
